SCK's Project Lift

About Project Lift

We were thrilled when an old friend reached out recently to share their work with Project Lift and to propose a partnership with us.

The team behind Project Lift admires our mission and wants to support us in expanding our reach. Their goal aligns with ours: to make karate more accessible to the Sunshine Coast Community, especially during these tough financial times.

With the rising cost of living, many people have had to cut back on activities like karate. Project Lift is here to change that. They have generously committed $40,000 in funding to help us share the benefits of karate with more people.

Karate is more than just a physical activity; it’s a powerful tool for navigating the challenging times many people are currently facing. Practicing karate helps relieve stress, improve mental focus, and enhance overall well-being. Through disciplined training and mindful breathing techniques, participants can gain better control over their lives, reduce anxiety, and feel more empowered, finding a sense of joy, happiness, and peace. And the best part is, it's something your whole family can do together.

This partnership is a tremendous opportunity, but its continuation depends on the success of our initial efforts. If we achieve our goals in the first stage, we can look forward to ongoing support from Project Lift.

Applications for Round 1 of funding will be open from 1 July to 30 September 2024, or until the funds are exhausted.

Join us in this exciting journey to bring karate to more people in our community. Together, we can make a difference!

'For us the lessons at Sunshine Coast Karate really reinforce the life skills we are teaching our son at home - respect, confidence and acceptance.'

THE DI PIETRAS

We have been going to Sunshine Coast Karate since February 2013. We viewed and trialled at various Karate schools on the Sunshine Coast. We are happy to share the reasons why we are happy and choose Sunshine Coast Karate.

Prior to starting at Sunshine Coast Karate our 7 year old son lacked self-confidence and concentration. Since starting with Sunshine Coast Karate he has started to handle social situations with more ease. He has also been commended on his attention and work performance in the classroom.

As parents we are very happy with our selection of Sunshine Coast Karate, not only because of the improvements we have witnessed in our son, but also in the way the school is run.

Both Martin & Sandra present themselves in a very professional manner. Sunshine Coast Karate offers a great sense of balance between fun and respect. We are impressed there are always senior students in a class to support the black belt instructor to ensure the children’s techniques are developing correctly.

For us the lessons at Sunshine Coast Karate really reinforce the life skills we are teaching our son at home - respect, confidence and acceptance. We would recommend this school to anyone who has children. Thank you Martin & Sandra and we look forward to many more years of involvement.
