From Tiny Gi’s to Car Keys: Celebrating the Grand Finale of Our 25th Year

It is hard to believe we are about to take our final bow for 2025. This hasn’t just been another year on the calendar; it has been a massive milestone for our Sunshine Coast Karate family. We have officially celebrated 25 years of history, sweat, and spirit on these mats.

A Quarter-Century of Growth (Literally!)

When we look back at photos from the early 2000s compared to today, we realize just how much we have seen. Martin and I often joke that the grey hairs are just symbols of wisdom gained!

But the best part has been watching our students grow. We have seen generations of “Karate Kids” start their journey with us. We’ve watched students go from tripping over their belts and bursting out of their mini-gis (seriously, one week the pants fit, the next week they look like shorts!), to suddenly standing tall as young adults.

It feels like just yesterday we were helping tie their belts, and now, we are watching them drive their own cars into the dojo car park.

One Last Push Together

Whether you have been with us since the beginning or you just tied your white belt for the first time this month, you are part of this legacy.

Karate is an individual journey where we work on our own focus and discipline, but as we always say: we travel this road together. The community, the friendships, and the shared effort are what make this dojo special.

Join Us for the 2025 Grand Finale

We want to finish this milestone year the way we started it: with energy, focus, and heart. We are calling on all students—past and present—to come down and pack the dojo for the final training session of the year.

Don’t let your training partners finish alone. Tag your buddies, text your friends, and let’s make the last session of 2025 our best one yet.

Final Training Times for This Saturday:

  • Brown & Black Belts: 7:30am – 8:50am
  • All Ages & All Levels: 9:00am – 10:30am

Let’s celebrate the history, the fun, and the hard work. See you on the mats!
