The Queensland Floods Have Been Devastating

As a martial artist, fighting spirit and my compassion are two of my very important qualities. With the natural disaster that has spread across 75% of Queensland, is now time to dig deep and show these qualities.

The Queensland Floods Have Been Devastating

But For Those Of Us Who Remain Relatively Untouched,
We Have An Important Choice To Make

With this in mind, I want to share with you the decision that we have made. And we want to ask you to join us, because together we can make a massive difference!

Nearly everyone we speak to knows of someone who has been effected in horrific ways by the floods. My own parents have had some serious property damage and spent a night evacuated from their home. My Aunt who lives in Brisbane had her house go completely under. Thankfully they were all safe, but the clean up is going to take some time, not to mention the financial cost and massive inconvenience.

That’s about all I’m going to say about the problem, because I am sure that you have your own stories of people that you know. Or undoubtedly you have seen the graphic images throughout over the media.

Rather than focussing on the problem, we have chosen to move on with life and business and doing what we can do to support those who have been devastated. On the Sunshine Coast we have remained relatively untouched by this disaster. So I think it’s our duty to remain strong for family and friends and those in our communities who have had their homes, businesses and lives wiped out by the floods. I want them to be able to draw strength from our spirit and determination to make a positive difference when all they see from everywhere else is devastation and disaster.

The first few months of the year is normally a very busy time for Sunshine Coast Karate with new students getting started. Based off our results from last year and our much improved skills in marketing we expect to grow our membership base considerably in the next few months. This leaves us in a great position to make a massive difference.

Our plan is to donate $100 to flood relief funds for every new member that joins Sunshine Coast Karate in the months of January and February. Based on the number of new students getting started at this time last year, this will equate to around $5000-$6500 that we will be able to give. With your help we can make this a lot more. And we have a plan how you can help us.

Before the floods hit we were developing a plan for a special referral program to help kick off the year. And now we’ve got even more reason to kick this plan into motion. So over the next few days we will be sharing the details with members and asking for their help. They already know the power that Karate can have to transform lives. They’ve seen the effects first hand in their own lives. So it’s just a small extra step to share this great gift with their friends, in turn helping us make a massive difference to help those effected by the floods.

If you’re not yet a member, learn how you can join now. And we’ll happily make a donation of $100 just because you joined us.

You Can Make A Difference

And a shout out to anyone in business, particularly those who are members of Sunshine Coast Karate. We would like to encourage you to do whatever you can to help by doing something similar within your business. Let’s face it people are in business primarily for one of two reasons, to get a life or to give a life. Now it’s our turn to give a life and we want you to join us to help do the same.

Drop by our facebook page. Share a brief story how you or someone you know has been effected by the floods and tell us how your are going to get on with life and help make a difference. Yes, it’s time for us to count our blessings, but it’s also time to take action.
