Tuesday Fun!!!

I was a little slow getting moving today, but pulled myself out of bed and into the dojo for morning training.  This morning I got to enjoy free time so I focused on having a good stretch followed by Bo and kata training.  I’m working deliberately on a few key elements which I have picked up since arriving in Kumamoto.

I spoke too soon in my recent blog post about how I’m becoming more efficient with Souji.  Not today.  I was really dragging my tail today and I’m grateful that Helen came and gave me a hand to wrap up souji.

A quick rest after breakfast  and we were off to Minowa Sensei’s stretching class for the afternoon.  Check out Helen’s new toe socks.

Check out those socks!!!

The stretching class is so much fun. We started with basic body movement and stretching exercises followed by some team building type activities and then we got to sit back and relax for the remainder of the session while the everyone started rehearsals for an upcoming festival.  They eventually took to the stage and with every practice they just got better and better.  An amazing class of ladies that know how to have fun and continue to develop their minds and bodies.

On the way back to the dojo we stopped for ice-cream and Minowa Sensei shared photos of some of there previous dances.  Some of the performances they go all out and get dressed up and they look spectacular.  I would have loved to have seen some of their performances.  Their next performance coming up is sure to be a winner. I’m hoping they can get some photos and/or video to share on Facebook.  It would be great to see how everything comes together.

Just the one class tonight with Naoyuki Sensei and it was great fun.  A big thank you to Naoyuki Sensei for a great class this evening.  It is great to see families training together and students of all ages and levels. Below are some pictures of tonight’s class.
