Membership inclusions

Small Steps1 basic class a week at the dojo
Basic2 basic classes a week at the dojo
UnlimitedAll age- and rank-appropriate classes at the dojo
YudanshaAll age- and rank-appropriate classes at the dojo
LifetimeAll age- and rank-appropriate classes at the dojo

Specialty classes are not included in Small Steps or Basic memberships; Unlimited, Yudansha and Lifetime include all classes. Workshops are not included in any membership.

All members have free access to our online learning resources.

Terms and conditions (memberships paid fortnightly)

Classes

  1. Sunshine Coast Karate will provide competent martial arts instruction and suitable training facilities for at least 11 months of each calendar year.
  2. If we can’t run classes in person, we’ll run live online classes instead.

Make-up classes

  1. If you miss one of your booked classes, a make-up class is added to your member account.
  2. You have 6 weeks to use a make-up class.
  3. Make-up classes are only valid while your membership is active, and can’t be used in place of a membership.
  4. If you book a make-up class and miss it without cancelling, you lose that class. You can cancel any booking up until the class starts.

Holds

  1. You can put your membership on hold at any time, for at least 1 week.
  2. Please give at least 7 days’ written notice of a hold.
  3. Fortnightly fees are always charged in full. If a hold lasts an odd number of weeks, your payment schedule moves by a week after the hold.

Fees and payments

  1. Your membership is paid fortnightly by direct debit, with no minimum term.
  2. Our payment processor charges a one-time setup fee of $5.50 for each new automatic payment schedule. It’s added to your first payment.
  3. Payments are processed whether or not you use the facilities or attend classes.
  4. We may change fortnightly fees at any time, with at least 30 days’ written notice.
  5. Everyone covered by this agreement must be a member of the International Chito-Ryu Karate-Do Federation and ICKFA (Sunshine Coast Branch) Inc. Sunshine Coast Karate pays these association fees on your behalf.

Family discounts

  1. When 2 family members from the same household are members, everyone’s tuition is 10% off. With 3 or more, it’s 15% off.
  2. Family discounts apply only when all the memberships are paid from the same bank account or credit card.

Ending a membership

  1. Memberships can’t be transferred to someone else.
  2. To end your membership, give us 14 days’ written notice. Until then, fees may continue to be deducted from your nominated account or card.
  3. We may end this agreement without notice if no classes have been attended for 90 days or more.

  1. Some memberships have additional terms. They’re shown in your member account, with the membership you choose.
