First, a little love for Bailey Keefe Sensei!! Over 16 years training with us, Bailey has achieved so much, from great success in his training to running his own dojo, Coastal Karate Club.
We are better instructors, students and people because of him. Thank you, Bailey, for being YOU, and for gifting us with your presence at SCK for so long. Bailey has now moved to Melbourne for his career, and if he applies himself the way he does in the dojo, there’s no limit to what he’ll achieve.
A huge thank you also to our very first adult student, Matthew Stevenson Sensei, for stepping in so Bailey’s students can keep training. When Bailey was a little kid in the dojo, Matt was our most senior black belt training beside him. Now Matt is looking after Bailey’s students. How special is that?
Matt has always dreamed of having his own dojo, and while the timing wasn’t planned, it has come together beautifully. With his daughter Emmalee alongside him, he’ll continue the classes as Caloundra Karate. Congratulations, Matt. You’re already putting great runs on the board!
