Lots of families plan to “start something in the new year”. But when it comes to karate, starting a few weeks earlier makes a real difference. Here’s why.

1. The first weeks are the hardest, so get them done now
Every new student has a settling-in period: learning how to bow, where to stand, and what all the new words mean. Start now, and by the time school goes back your child already feels at home in the dojo.
2. A head start on the first belt
Most new students are ready for their first grading after 8 to 12 weeks. Starting before Christmas means that first belt comes sooner in 2027, and that early win builds a lot of confidence.

3. Healthy habits over the holidays
Long summer holidays can mean a lot of screen time. Regular training (plus our holiday classes and Summer Adventure Pass) keeps kids active, focused and social over the break.

4. It’s not just for kids
Karate is for the whole family. Teens and adults train with us too, and many parents start after watching their children for a few weeks.
