History in the Making: Why the 2026 QLD State Camp is Already Our Biggest Ever!

There is something electric in the air for 2026.

Whether it’s the beachside vibes of Currimundi or the countdown to the Soke Cup (World Championships), the response has been unlike anything we’ve seen before. We’ve already surpassed the total registration numbers of previous years and we still have weeks to go before regisration closes completely!

If you haven’t secured your spot yet, here is why this is officially the “must-attend” event of the decade for our Chito-Ryu community.

URGENT: Earlybird Pricing Ends TODAY!

If you’ve been sitting on the fence, today (31st March) is your last chance to snag the Earlybird discount. You have until midnight to lock in the best rate for what is shaping up to be the biggest and best camp in QLD history.

1. Get Off the Sidelines: A True Family Event

This isn’t just a retreat for elite athletes; it’s a community gathering. We are calling on all “sideline” parents and siblings: this is your year to join in. We have sessions designed specifically for families to train together. From our Little Champions (ages 4–7) to adults who have never stepped on a mat before, there is a place for everyone.

2. A Historic “First” for Australian Chito-Ryu

For the first time in our history, every single one of Australia’s senior Chito-Ryu instructors will be in attendance. This is a rare, once-in-a-career opportunity to learn from the collective wisdom and technical mastery of the association’s highest-ranking leaders all in one place.

3. The “Month of Progress” in a Weekend

With 12 hours of immersive training over 2.5 days, your karate will experience a massive “growth spurt.” We’ll be covering a lot of ground, but we’re also going deep into things specialized drills that we simply don’t have time for in regular weekly classes, like kobujutsu (weapons), bunkai (applications), kumite and of course we’ll be digging deep into kihon (basics) & kata.

4. The Road to the Soke Cup & National Selection

With the World Championships only three months after the camp, the energy at Currimundi will be at an all-time high. This camp is the final gathering before the National Kumite teams are selected. You’ll be training alongside the very athletes who will be representing Australia on the world stage.

5. Iconic Beach Training & Social Vibes

Is there anything better than a Sunday morning Kiai over the sound of the crashing waves? Our Currimundi beach session is a legendary tradition. Beyond the mats, the social “off-the-mat” time—shared meals, dorm laughs, and new friendships—is where the real “camp magic” happens.

? Key Dates to Remember:

  • Earlybird Discount Ends: TODAY, Tuesday, 31 March
  • Final Registration Deadline: Sunday, 3 May
  • Camp Dates: Fri 22 – Sun 24 May
  • Location: Currimundi Recreation Centre

Don’t watch from the sidelines this year. Be part of the biggest Chito-Ryu event QLD has ever seen.
