The Countdown is On
We are 191 days out from the 2026 Soke Cup, and the hard work is well underway. Last week, Martin Sensei, Sami, Steven, and I visited the Brisbane dojo to work with their Soke Cup squad. It was a great night of training and a good chance for us to connect with more of the Australian Team as we head toward August.
A Family Affair
One of the core values we hold at Sunshine Coast Karate is that karate is a journey best shared. It was a special evening as Martin Sensei, Sami, Steven, and I all stepped into the dojo at BrisKarate. Seeing our own family interact with the wider “karate family” reminds us that the bonds we build in the dojo extend far beyond the four walls of our own training centre.
What This Means for SCK Students
You might be wondering, “How does a visit to Brisbane help the Sunshine Coast?” When we travel and teach at this level, we bring those fresh insights, international standards, and renewed energy back to our own dojo. Whether you are a white belt starting your first week or a seasoned competitor, you are part of a lineage that is recognised and respected nationwide.
The road to the Soke Cup in August is going to be an incredible ride, and we’re just getting started.
If you’d like to see the full story and photos from our visit, check out the feature on the BrisKarate website here.
